SEOUL, Mar. 25 (Yonhap) -- An exhibition by the painter Shin Sun Mi, widely known for her paintings of a woman in Hanbok is being held in Spain for the first time.

The Spanish Korean Cultural Center (Director Oh Ji-hoon) announced on the 24th that under the name of 'I miss you', 22 works of painter Shin’s will be displayed until May 27th.

The work tells the story of returning to childhood through its own children and meeting ‘ant fairy’ that can only be seen through the eyes of pure children. Drawn from the perspective of a single woman, it expresses the love between three generations, going beyond the love between a mother and child, and extending to the warm love between grandmother, mother, and child.

Painter Shin has built her own world of art by combining new materials with the traditional oriental painting technique. By depicting images like a woman in Hanbok, a modern life of a child, or the little fairies, she portrays a realistic and an unrealistic world in her paintings at the same time.

Picture books and photo books such as 'Midnight Ant Fairy' and 'Ant Fairy's Gift' are also on display at the exhibition.

Oh Ji-hoon, director of the Cultural Center, said, "The first exhibition held by painter Shin in Spain will bring calmness and happiness to the Spanish visitors who love Korean culture and art.”

In 2007, right after graduating from graduate school, painter Shin received spotlight by selling all her works at the art fair she participated in. Later, she was selected in the Danwon Art Competition and in the Grand Arts Exhibition Of Korea.
