SEOUL, April. 13 (Yonhap) -- "I feel different every day ahead of my solo debut. I was excited yesterday, but I'm more nervous today."

Yeeun, a former member of the group CLC, is to release her single "The Beginning" on Thursday as she debuts as a solo artist.

In a recent interview at the Yonhap News Agency in Jongno-gu, Seoul, Yeeun said, "I'm very nervous to show myself after a long time."

Having worked as the main rapper on the team, she ended her exclusive contract with her former agency in March last year and settled in Superbell Company in August of that year to prepare a solo album.

It is the first time in more than two years that the new album has been released since the original sound track “Another Level” for web drama, which was sung with CLC's Seunghee and Seungyeon.

The album contains two songs with different charms, including the hip-hop genre title song "Cherry Coke," which expresses Yeeun's charisma, and "Strange Way To Love," which features delicate sensibilities.

Yeeun has introduced the title song, saying, "I wanted to show my unique charm, just as sweet cherries and sparkling cola meet to create a new taste."

“Stranger Way To Love” is a pop genre song that contains Yeeun's aspect as a vocalist that she has never shown before. Yeeun reportedly focused on vocal practice for the song and referenced videos of pop stars Doja Cat and Rihanna.

She introduced, “The song contains a special way of love that fans and artist share.”

“I filmed two music videos within one day,” she said, who has prepared songs with intense rapping and delicate vocal at once. “I was confused to show calm image one day and active image other day.”

Yeeun made her debut in the music industry in 2015 with CLC’s first mini album “First Love” and released “Black Dress,” “No” and “Hobgoblin.”

Being on the stage alone eight years after her debut, she said, “I feel pressured, but if the group experience melts well into my solo career, I think I can do well with my individuality.”
