SEOUL, Dec. 29 (Yonhap) -- King Sejong Institute announced on Wednesday that they are currently recruiting
institutions or organizations that will operate King Sejong Institute, which teaches Korean and Korean culture,  in overseas countries next year.

Targets are local government agency that is currently operating Korean educational institution or wants to operate one for the public interest, universities, nonprofit corporation or private organization. Individual or private institute are excluded.

Domestic government agencies, local governments, universities (graduate), non-profit corporations, and private organizations that operate or intend to operate Korean language educational institutions abroad are also eligible.

If designated as King Sejong Institute, not only will the budget to operate the place, but also depending on the need, Korean language teacher or budget/supplies for the education of Korean culture can be provided.

Teachers can receive educational training like attending Korean language educationists meeting, and best students will be provided with various scholarships including visit to Korea.

Due date for application is next Jan. 31. After going through document examination, on-site survey, and final examination, the institute will announce the results in next June.

As of today, there are 244 King Sejong institutes in 84 different countries.
