SEOUL November 10 (Yonhap) -- South Korean romance movie “Ditto” which premiered in 2000 with story of a couple who lives in a different time line and keeps in touch with one another though Walkie-Talkie, has been re created into a youth romance genre of movie.

“Ditto” which will be premiering on November 16 features, actor Yeo Jin-goo and actress Cho Yi-hyun, and it is a remake of the original movie “Ditto” featuring actress Kim Ha-neul and actor Yoo Ji-tae.

The plot of the movie revolves around the male university student Kim Yong acted by Yeo Jin-goo who is stuck in year 1995 gets a chance to talk to a female university student Mu-nee who lives in year 2022, where Mu-nee gives advice on Kim Yong’s one sided love and communicate through Walkie Talkie.

The significant different the remake version of “Ditto” showcases is gender difference. Within the original piece of movie “Ditto” the female protagonist So-eun acted by Kim Ha-neul is from year 1977 and male protagonist Ji-in acted by Yoo Ji-tae is from year 2000.

Moreover, the remake version of the movie puts emphasis on the lopsided love of Kim Yong and new comer Han-sol, acted by Kim Hye-yoon to re create the atmosphere of the 90s campus life.

Colorful fashion, chorded headphones, sticker photos, phone booths, bikes and more of the props from the 90s and catch phrases from the era will bring the nostalgia to the audience.

Also, scenes where characters dash to their dormitories in order to meet the deadline of closure after their date, or leaving a note for those who is unreachable at the moment so that they might come across the message one day appear throughout the movie.

The struggle both protagonist face due to generation gap brings chuckle to audiences throughout the movie.

“Ditto” which features skilled and well loved actors such as Yeo Jin-goo, Na In-woo, actress Kim Hye-yoon, Cho Yi-hyun, and more which brings friendliness and excitement by their fans.

Throughout the movie actress Kim Hye-yoon acted out bright cheerful character suitable and fitting for the image of “First Love” and actor Yeo Jin-goo, portrayed someone in love but at the same time worries about the uncertain future he faces perfectly.

However, the entire movie showcases the positive and lovely side of youth throughout 114 minutes of the movie therefore its gets boring after a while. The setting such as segmented era, kind and innocent protagonists and more adds on to reasons why the movie gets boring after a while.

When “Ditto” first premiered, the idea both male and female protagonists from different time era communicate using Walkie Talkie was an interesting subject. However, due to overwhelming amount of movies and series which deals with the subject of time slip, it is hard to provide fresh, heartwarming feel to the audience.

Remake version of “Ditto” will premiere on November 16.
