SEOUL, July 14 (Yonhap) — Yoo Jae-seok, the South Korean MC, has eventually settled in Antenna, a record label led by singer-songwriter Yoo Hee-yeol.
Antenna announced on Wednesday that it has signed an exclusive contract with Yoo Jae-seok.
"Yoo Jae-seok, as a national MC and comedian, has always been expanding his spectrum by challenging new things based on his logical judgement and passion for content," Antenna said.
"We will provide full support for Yoo Jae-seok to help him continue new challenges in the free and pleasant atmosphere of Antenna. Please continue to show your love and support for Yoo Jae-seok.”
Yoo Jae-seok also said, "I'm excited and happy to be with my close colleagues who I've known for a long time. Please look forward to the fun things that will unfold in the future.”
In addition to Yoo Hee-yeol, several musicians including Jung Jae-hyung, Toy, Lucid Fall, Peppertones, Jung Seung-hwan, Kwon Jin-ah, Sam Kim, and Jukjae are managed under Antenna, but Yoo Jae-seok is the first celebrity working outside the music field to join the agency.
Antenna explained that recruiting Yoo Jae-seok is to freely challenge and have a good impact on the entertainment industry without being bound by talented good people.
"With Yoo Jae-seok's joining, we plan to set the stage for artists to participate more actively in planning the project and expand into various areas to showcase synergies in both music and entertainment," Antenna said.
Yoo Jae-seok made his debut on the first KBS Comedy Festival in 1991 and now, MBC TV's “Hangout with Yoo,” as well as SBS TV’s “Running Man” and tvN’s “You Quiz on the Block.”
