SEOUL, Mar. 14 (Yonhap) – K-pop girl group VIVIZ and singer Ha Sung-woon will be produced into "digital twins" using AI(Artificial Intelligence) technology, according to the agency Big Planet Made on Mar. 14.
Big Planet Made recently signed an agreement with Selvas AI, a software company engaged in artificial intelligence speech synthesis technology to launch its new business idea of idol digital twins.
The agency combines the voice data of its artists with Selvas AI's voice recognition technology to produce digital twins that resemble the singers. VIVIZ and Ha Sung-woon will be the first artists under its label to have digital twins.
Digital twin artists will meet their fans in virtual spaces, such as Metaverse(virtual world) and fan communities. They will greet people in the same voice as the artist and perform diverse activities in the entertainment industry, including concerts, autograph sessions, album releases, and acting.
Choi Jae-ho, the CEO of Big Planet Made, said, "We will increase the opportunities of communication between artists and fans through digital twins from now on," adding, "We will create a fandom culture of the new paradigm that allows interactions, such as music, concerts, fan meetings, and autograph sessions, within Metaverse.”
