BTS sets new record with most weeks at No. 1 on Billboard's Digital Song Sales chart

SEOUL, Dec. 15 (Yonhap) -- K-pop sensations BTS has recorded the most weeks as No. 1 on Billboard's Digital Song Sales chart.

BTS has once again topped another chart with "Butter" released in May, according to the latest chart released by Billboard on Dec. 14 (local time).

The septet now has stayed atop the digital song sales chart for a total of 18 weeks with "Dynamite and "Butter."

As a whole, BTS has topped the chart for a total of 46 weeks, beating out big stars like Taylor Swift and became artists with the highest number of No.1 on the history of the Digital Song Sales chart.

"Butter" also topped the weekly chart of Billboard's Hot Trending Songs Power by Twitter," which was a newly established category in October.

"My Universe," a joint collaboration song between BTS and British band Coldplay, ranked No. 59 and succeeded in entering the Hot 100 songs chart for the 11th consecutive week.

In addition, the song ranked No. 9 in Adult Pop Airplay, No. 8 in Canadian Hot AC, No. 22 in Pop Airplay, No. 25 in Radio Songs, and No. 27 in the Canadian Digital Song Sales chart.

The K-pop act also entered "Butter," "My Universe," "Dynamite," and "Permission to Dance" on the Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Excl. U.S. charts, which rank streaming and sales from more than 200 countries and regions around the world.

Meanwhile, BTS' fourth full-length album "Map of the Soul: 7" ranked No. 161 on the Billboard main albums chart "Billboard 200." On the Top Album Sales chart, the album landed at No. 52, up 14 notches from the previous week.

BTS' album "BE," released last November, ranked 83rd in Top Album Sales and 41st on the Top Current Album Sales chart, respectively.

Meanwhile, BTS' member Jin's self-composed song "Super Tuna," released on Dec. 4, ranked No. 12 on the weekly chart of Hot Trending Songs, and "Yours," which was released on Nov. 7 as one of the songs for tvN's drama "Jirisan" soundtrack, ranked No. 18 on the same chart.
