SEOUL, April. 20 (Yonhap) -- Pop star Bruno Mars is to hold a concert in Korea at Seoul Olympic Main Stadium in Jamsil Sports Complex in Seoul from June 17-18, Hyundai Card said on Thursday.
The concert has been organized as the 27th event of Hyundai Card's concert brand "Super Concert."
Hyundai Card said, "This Super Concert will be held with 100,000 people for the second time after Coldplay in 2017," adding, "This is the largest performance ever in Korea."
Bruno Mars is one of the best pop stars of his time with outstanding skills in all fields, including singing, dancing, composing and performing. It is evaluated that it perfectly performs various genres such as punk, sol, reggae, hip-hop, and rock as well as pop. Recently, he formed the R&B duo Silk Sonic with rapper and singer-songwriter Anderson Paak.
He topped Billboard's main singles chart "Hot 100” with songs including "Just the Way You Are" and "Grenade." He has held a total of 15 Grammy Awards so far. In particular, at last year's Grammy Awards, he showed off his potential to sweep awards in four categories: "Record of the Year," "Song of the Year," "Best R&B Song," and "Best R&B Performance."
Bruno Mars' performance in Korea is the second in nine years since 2014.
Hyundai Card Super Concert is Hyundai Card's cultural marketing brand that carefully selects world-class artists and presents performances. Coldplay, Paul McCartney, Lady Gaga, Beyonce, and Stevie Wonder performed in Korea through it.
