SEOUL, Jan. 17 (Yonhap) – July Jung, the director of the movie “A Girl at My Door,” which was invited to the 2014 Cannes Film Festival, and S. Korean actress Bae Doo-na have reunited in a new film.
July Jung’s new movie “The Next Sohee(translated)” starring Bae Doo-na has recently started filming, according to the production company TwinPlusPartners on Jan. 17.
“The Next Sohee” depicts the case of a high school girl So-hee, who went out to the field practice at a call center, and the detective Yoo-jin, who has doubts about the incident. Bae Doo-na plays the role of the cold-hearted detective Yoo-jin.
In “A Girl at My Next Door,” Bae Doo-na played Young-nam, who protects the girl Do-hee(Kim Sae-ron) from her stepfather’s abuse.
Director Jung was invited to the Remarkable Eyes section of the 67th Cannes Film Festival, and won the Best New Director Awards at Stockholm International Film Festival, Baeksang Arts Awards, and Golden Cinema Film Festival, and the Best Screenplay Awards at Wildflower Film Awards.
