SEOUL, Feb. 8 (Yonhap) -- The forthcoming comedy-drama “Family” will premiere in April, tvN announced Wednesday.

The brand-new comedy-drama will feature the story of a NIS black agent who is also a husband who disguises himself as an ordinary office worker and his wife who dreams of a perfect family.

South Korean veteran actor Jang Hyuk, who is best known for his leading roles in the television dramas “Successful Story of a Bright Girl,” “You Are My Destiny,” and “The Swordsman,” will play Kwon Do-hoon, a NIS agent who covers up his identity as an employee of a trading company. He will show off his charm as a veteran sniper who is quick, accurate, and clean-cut.

Although he is negligent to his family due to his heavy workload, he shows sincere and undoubtful love towards his wife Kang Yu-ra. Jang Na-ra will play Kwon Do-hoon’s endearing wife Kang Yu-ra, an excellent homemaker who tries to keep her family as perfect as possible, which has been her long-time dream. Nevertheless, she is concealing a secret behind her lovely figure.

Chae Jung-an will present the role of Oh Cheon-ryeon, a senior NIS agent who disciplines Kwon; she willingly offers to help Kwon in every possible way in hopes of Kwon protecting his family unlike her who had to undergo three divorces.

Actor Kim Nam-hee, who recently garnered attention by appearing in JTBC’s mega-hit drama “Reborn Rich,” will play Tae-gu, an uninvited guest who suspiciously visits the couple; he tends to make impulsive decisions for pleasure that dies at the very moment it charms him.

Jang Jung-do, who is known for previously participating in delivering the hit drama series “What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim” (2018), “Our Blues” (2022), and “Alchemy of Souls” (2022 - 2023), will be in charge of directing this forthcoming comedy-drama.
