SEOUL, Nov. 13 (Yonhap) -- The Southern Regional Coast Guard Headquarters announced Friday that it has appointed KNN News Eye announcer Hwang Beom and actor Ahn Bo-hyun as honorary coast guard police officers.
Ahn debuted as a model in 2007 and gained recognition after appearing in a number of popular dramas such as "Itaewon Class," "Kairos," "Yumi's Cells," and the recent Netflix series "My Name."
As honorary coast guard police officers, Hwang and Ahn will promote the Korea Coast Guard and engage in public interest activities for marine safety for the next two years.
For their first activity, Hwang and Ahn will participate in the "National Life Jacket Wearing Campaign" along with the appointment ceremony.
