SEOUL, Aug. 17 (Yonhap) -- K-pop sensation BTS' hit number "Butter" has ranked seventh on this week's Billboard main singles chart, spending 12 consecutive weeks within the "Top 10" rank.
"BTS' "Butter" descends 4-7 after nine weeks atop the Hot 100, Billboard said on its website on Monday (U.S. time).
As a result, the upbeat summery song has now remained in the top 10 for a total of 12 consecutive weeks, including sitting atop the chart for nine whole weeks since its release on May 21.
Previously, BTS' "Butter" had handed the "No. 1 baton" to the septet's third English number "Permission to Dance," but returned to the top again for another two weeks.
In addition, "Butter" recorded 629,000 downloads and topped the Digital Song Sales chart for 11 straight weeks.
Although the figure is down 20 percent from last week, it is still five times larger than "Stay" (12,700) by The Kid LAROI and Justin Bieber.
Despite "Butter" being released three months ago, this record once again proved the power of BTS' global fandom, ARMY, was still strong.
Meanwhile, Olivia Rodrigo's "good 4 u," which has consistently ranked No.2 due to BTS' long-term rule over the Hot 100, was placed second again this week. while The Kid LAROI and Justin Bieber's "Stay" ranked took first place.
