SEOUL, May 3 (Yonhap) -- South Korean actress Song Ji-hyo has reportedly filed a lawsuit against her former agency Uzurocks, according to an official from the actress’ side Wednesday.
The 41-year-old filed a lawsuit against the label on Tuesday, claiming that she has not received an appropriate amount of financial compensation for her screen appearances.
Per the official, “Uzurocks already broke its promise to properly pay Song Ji-hyo her settlement refund several times,” adding that her “trust in the company pretty much ended” and that she could not wait any longer.
Suspicions were raised that her former agency was facing major financial problems when an employee claimed that they had not been paid their salaries and neither has the agency’s artists. An employee, whose identity has been withheld, claimed that its employees did not receive the year-end settlement refund that they should have received along with their salaries. The artists repped by Uzurocks were also reported not being paid their appearance or endorsement fees.
Song, who has been repped by the label, officially gave notice of termination of the exclusive contract to Uzurocks on April 14.
