SEOUL March 17 (Yonhap) -- Wonju Academy Theater preservation committee addressed on Friday that movie “Ghost Play” which depicts the history of the Wonju Academy Theater will be screened under the segment of competition.
The movie “Ghost Play” is by well known director Kim Hyun-jeong known for her productions “Home Without Me,” and “Introductory Class” which won the grand prize at the Seoul Independent Film Festival.
“Ghost Play” depicts a story of a protagonist figure with his grandson visiting the Wonju Academy Theater in order to watch the movie.
The movie was mostly shot in the Wonju Academy Theater using its original pieces from its physical locations form filming equipments and its location.
Director Kim Hyun-jeong addressed “I was surprised to see that South Korea still withholds almost perfectly in shaped single theater,” adding “Since I was motivated to write the scenario due to Wonju Academy Theater, I hope it will provide people with the merit of the place.”
