SEOUL February 22 (Yonhap) -- Director Makoto Shinkai and actress Nanoka Hara who acted out the voice of protagonist Suzume Iwato in the upcoming Japanese animation “Suzume” will visit South Korea from March 7 until 9, addressed movie provider Showbox on Wednesday.
Director Makoto Shinkai is known for his previous works “Your Name” which has topped the South Korean box office for the first time as a Japanese Animation. Moreover, director is well known throughout Japan for his works “Your Name,” “Weathering With You” and “Suzume” which has exceed over 10 million audiences.
The upcoming animation movie “Suzume” depicts a story of a female protagonist Suzume Iwato who accidently opens a doorway to catastrophe does her best in order to close the door. The animation movie has been invited to the 73rd Berlin International film festival to have its international premiere as part of the festival’s competition segment.
Actress Nanoka Hara has landed a role as a voice actress of protagonist Suzume Iwato amongst over 1700 competitors.
“Her way of addressing the line has very close relation with the emotion,” director Makoto Shinkai addressed the reason for casting actress Nanoka Hara as the protagonist for the movie.
Nanoka Hara debuted in 2009 as a child actress, and managed to act out the lead role in “Opening Night” which premiered in 2017 at the age of 13. Through her mature acting, Nanoka Hara received a lot of compliments.
