SEOUL, September 14 (Yonhap) -- Actors Ryu Jun-yeol and Jeon Yeo Been will be hosting the opening ceremony of the 27th Busan International Film Festival (BIFF).

 

The executive committee of the Busan International Film Festival announced on Wednesday that it has been confirmed that actors Ryu Jun-yeol and Jeon Yeo Been will be the hosts of the opening ceremony of the 27th Busan International Film Festival, which will be starting on October 5. 

 

Actor Ryu Jun-yeol was invited to the 20th Busan International Film Festival with the movie "Glory Day" (2015) for the Korean movie today-Panorama category, and Jeon Yeo-been was awarded as the Actress of the Year at the 22nd Busan International Film Festival with the movie "After My Death" (2017). 

 

It adds meaning as the two actors who maintained their relationship with the Busan International Film Festival have been selected as hosts of this year's ceremony.   
 
Ryu Jun-yeol made his film debut with "Socialphobia," and was recognized for his acting abilities. He continued working on films and TV shows with his distinct characters in dramas "Reply 1988" (2015-2016), the film "Believer" (2017), and "A Taxi Driver" (2017).


In the movie "Alien" (2022), which was released in July, he played the role of Taoist Moo Reuk, who has a strong desire to get his hands on a legendary sword, and showed a new acting transformation.
