SEOUL, July 18 (Yonhap) -- Directed by Sir Simon Rattle, London Symphony Orchestra will be collaborating on a concert with South Korean Pianist Cho Seong-jin in October at Lotte Concert Hall in Seoul.

Pianist Cho Seong-jin will be taking the stage on “Sir Simon Rattle & London Symphony Orchestra” on October 14, announced Lotte Foundation on Monday.

Cho Seong-jin and London Symphony Orchestra directed by Sir Simon Rattle will Ravel’s “La Valse” which is a dance piece for woodwind instruments, Bruckner’s “Symphony No.7”, Rachmaninov’s “Rhapsody on Theme of Paganini.”

London Symphony Orchestra which formed in 1904 is considered one of the best symphony orchestras in UK.

Lead by Sir Simon Rattle, London Symphony Orchestra visited South Korea in 2018 and performed pieces by Dvorak, Jean Sibelious and more at Lotte Concert hall in Seoul.

UK’s one of the most acknowledged conductor Sir Simon Rattle, previously collaborated with South Korean pianist Cho Seong-jin in 2017 during the Asian tour of Berlin Phil Harmonic Orchestra.

After 2024 Sir Simon Rattle will leave his position as the conductor of London Symphony Orchestra to work with Symphonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks in Germany, his spot will be taken by Sir Antonio Pappano starting on the September of 2024.

Members of London Symphony Orchestra and pianist Cho Seong-jin will perform at an opening ceremony of LG Art Center Seoul on October 13, which is a day before their concert in Lotte Concert Hall.

Performance at the LG Art Center Seoul which is an invite only event will feature pieces such as “Prelude” and “Love Death” from “Tristan und Isolde” by Wilhelm Richard Wagner, Jean Sibelius’ Symphony No.7, Ravel’s “La Valse”, Rachmaninov’s “Rhapsody on Theme of Paganini.” and more.
