SEOUL, June 11 (Yonhap) — K-pop boy group Tomorrow X Together’s mini-album which dropped last month received a gold certification by the RIAJ (Recording Industry Association of Japan).
The group received a gold certification after the cumulative net shipments for the fourth mini-album “minisode 2: Thursday's Child” surpassed 100,000 copies as of May, according to the agency Big Hit Music and the RIAJ, Saturday.
The RIAJ selects a gold disc based on the cumulative sales of albums every month.
The association certifies songs based on the cumulative sales, ranging from gold (over 100,000 copies) to platinum (over 250,000 copies), double platinum (over 500,000 copies), triple platinum (over 750,000 copies), and million (over 1,000,000 copies).
Tomorrow X Together has a total of 6 albums that received the gold disc certification.
The band certified gold with their singles "MAGIC HOUR" and "DRAMA" in 2020. The group’s first mini-album "Chaotic Wonderland" in Japan was certified platinum last year.
Tomorrow X Together, which debuted in 2019, is a five-member boy group consisting of members Yeonjun, Soobin, Beomgyu, Taehyun and Huening Kai.
The band will appear at Japan's largest music festival "Summer Sonic 2022" to be held in Tokyo and Osaka in August. In September, they will hold offline concerts in Osaka and Chiba and meet local fans.
