SEOUL, Jan. 3 (Yonhap) -- Director Woo Min-ho's latest film, Harbin, is expected to maintain its strong box office performance into its second weekend.
According to the Korea Box Office Information System on the 3rd, Harbin attracted over 92,000 viewers the previous day, securing the top spot at the box office with a revenue share of 40.7%. Since its release on Dec. 24, the film has consistently ranked first, with cumulative audience numbers now exceeding 3.18 million.
As of 9 a.m. on the same day, Harbin continues to lead in advance ticket sales, with a reservation rate of 34.4% and over 109,000 tickets sold. This far outpaces the second-ranked Bogota: The Land of Last Chances, which has an 11.7% reservation rate and around 37,000 tickets sold.
Bogota, which opened on December 31, garnered over 25,000 viewers (10.7%) on the previous day, placing it second at the box office. However, after drawing over 90,000 viewers over its first two days, its daily audience numbers have significantly dropped, bringing its cumulative total to just over 210,000 viewers.
In third place is Kwak Kyung-taek's Firefighter, which added another 24,000 viewers (10.7%), pushing its cumulative total to over 3.42 million.
Children's animation Pororo the Movie: Underwater Adventure ranked fourth with 17,000 viewers (7.0%), while Super Sonic 3 came in fifth with 11,000 viewers (5.0%).
