SEOUL, Sept. 2 (Yonhap) -- Veteran rock singer Yim Jae-beum will release his eighth full-length album to mark the 40th anniversary of his debut, his agency Blue Seed Entertainment said Tuesday.
Ahead of the album, Yim will drop two prerelease tracks, “When You Come” and “Greeting,” on Sept. 17. These will be his first new songs in about three years since his seventh album “Seven Comma” in 2022.
According to the agency, the new songs will “continue the resonance of his previous work while reaffirming the unchanging presence and profound musical world of a master built over four decades.”
“When You Come” and “Greeting” are said to capture Yim’s emotions through diverse storytelling. Longtime collaborator and producer Park Ki-deok, along with Mad Soul Child’s 14o2, known for composing Yim’s hit “Love,” took part in the production.
Yim also unveiled behind-the-scenes footage from his studio photo shoot on his official YouTube channel.
Debuting in 1986 with the band Sinawe’s first album, Yim has become renowned for his husky yet powerful voice and explosive vocals, producing numerous hits such as “For You,” “Soaring,” “Confession,” and “A Deeper Wound Than Love.”
To celebrate his 40th anniversary, Yim will kick off a nationwide tour titled “I Am Yim Jae-beum” in Daegu on Nov. 29, with stops including Incheon and Seoul.
