SEOUL, Mar. 3 (Yonhap) – Hong Eui-jin from K-pop girl groups SONAMOO and Uni.T has transformed into a solo vocalist by releasing the first single “The 8th Spring” on Mar. 3.
“The 8th Spring” is a ballad song that depicts the message that good times will come after tough times in comparison with winter and spring, according to the agency MELLOW Entertainment.
In the music video, Hong played a dancer who hit a slump during practice and performed faint facial expression.
Hong debuted as a main dancer of K-pop girl group SONAMOO in 2014 and re-debuted as a center of Uni.T by winning the first place in the KBS 2TV’s “The Unit” in 2017.
MELLOW Entertainment said, "It draws attention as Hong Eui-jin, who showed off performances as a member of the girl group in the past, tried to compete with her vocals," adding, "The singer also participated in writing lyrics, further expanding her career as an artist.”
