"Hanbok and Hallyu-linked collaboration content planning and development" is a project that promotes the appeal of Hanbok to the international community and overseas markets through the collaboration of Hanbok designers and Hallyu artists.
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism expected Kim Yu-na, UNICEF's goodwill ambassador, to enhance the charm of hanbok.
"I am happy to have the opportunity to plan and develop a new product that expresses the beauty of hanbok, and actively promote the value and merits of our hanbok," said Kim Yu-na.
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Crafts and Design Foundation will be making a contest for hanbok companies to plan and develop hanbok products till July 1st.
It targets small and medium-sized companies in the hanbok field, and a total of 10 companies will be selected according to their expertise, differentiation, realization, and their expected effect.
The selected company must develop at least six hanbok designs tailored to Kim Yu-na's characteristics and plans while maintaining the composition and elements of hanbok. The production cost will be supported up to 25 million won and will also be provided with the opportunities to sell in the domestic and overseas markets through the hanbok online platform.
