SEOUL, Feb. 28 (Yonhap) -- Four local designer brands will host runway shows for the first time in Paris fashion week, one of the world’s top 4 fashion shows, as “Seoul Fashion week.”

Seoul Metropolitan Government announced that “EENK,” “LIE,” “WNDERKAMMER,” and “DOUCAN” will host the fashion show in Palais Brongniart, Paris, on Mar. 6, during the fashion week period. Palais Brongniart is well known as a fashion show venue for global luxury brands such as Hermes and Fendi.

This fashion show is organized as an official event of the “Paris Fashion Week.”

Seoul city will operate a Seoul Fashion Week exclusive hall in the Tranoi Trade show, which will begin on Mar. 4 to 7. Nine local designers will participate in the Tranoi show, which is visited by more than 22,000 buyers from around the world, and promote K-fashion. Famous models including Choi So-ra will wear the clothes of Korean designers entering the Tranoi and participate in the promotion.

The global ambassador for this Seoul Fashion Week is Lee Jung-jae, the protagonist of Netflix’s hit series “Squid Game.” Lee will wear clothes of the local brands “EENK” and “CARUSO” and appear in a promotional YouTube that will be released on March 4.

The “2022 F/W Seoul Fashion Week,” which introduces this year’s autumn and winter fashion trends, will be hosted online and offline from Mar. 18 to 23. The fashion show, held offline after 3 years due to COVID-19, will be hosted in the Seoul Museum of Craft Art and streamed online through YouTube·NaverTV·TikTok.

Seoul city will expand the size of the invited audience after considering the COVID-19 situation and the guidelines of quarantine authorities.

Seoul city is also planning to release eight runway videos (fashion films) from Mar. 18, taken in advance using augmented and virtual reality technologies at Seoul attractions such as Namsan Mountain and Seoul Battleship Park. The video can be watched on the Seoul Fashion Week website (http://www.seoulfashionweek.org), YouTube channel, Naver TV, and TikTok.

The Seoul Fashion Week will also provide a sales exhibition for the general consumers. “Seoul Fashion Week on-site exhibition,” which will be held in the HAN Collection Gwanghwamun Building, will sell more than 100 designer brand products introduced at Seoul Fashion Week at discounted prices. A live commerce exhibition will also be held from Mar. 21.
