SEOUL, Apr. 22 (Yonhap) – As there was a lift of all COVID-19 distancing rules, the film industry has set out for the campaign to attract audiences again.
According to the movie scene on Apr. 20, the Korean Film Council, Multiplex, and distributing companies worked together to revive the Korean movies and theaters that were in great crisis due to COVID-19 outbreak.
The “Movie Week” will be held for a week from Apr. 25, when eating inside movie theaters will be permitted.
When audiences buy the free pass bracelet for the “Movie week,” which will be sold for 1,000 won at a theater, they can freely watch the movies from the “Korean Movie Special Event” for a day.
It will consist of a total of 10 movies, including “Kim Ji-young, Born 1982,” “Innocent Witness,” “Park Yol,” “Fengshui,” “The Man Standing Next,” “Svaha: The Sixth Finger,” “Assassination,” “The Great Battle,” “Extreme Job,” and “Honest Candidate.”
The free pass bracelet for the “Movie Week” can be used in 100 domestic theaters of three multiplex cinemas, such as CGV, Lotte Cinema, and Megabox, and popcorn(medium size) will be sold for 1,000 won.
On Culture Day, Apr. 27, the regular movies will be provided for 5,000 won, while popcorn and soda will be sold for 1,000 won. The three films of the series, which will draw attention towards theaters, will also be revealed in order.
