SEOUL, Mar. 25 (Yonhap) -- The Yudalsan Spring Festival in the city of Mokpo in South Jeolla Province will be held for two days from April 8 under the title of "Spring at Yudalsan and the Rebirth of Yi Sun-sin.”

The Festival is expected to attract local residents and tourists with the smell of spring combined with the full-blown flowers coloring Yudalsan Mountain in April. This spring festival is expected to be held along with the Naval Cultural Festival of Yi Sun-sin starting next year. Ahead of this collaboration, the city will organize joint programs related to Admiral Yi and the naval forces at this year's festival.

The Festival will kick off with a flash mob representing the April 8 Independence Movement as well as a parade of civic harmony organized and performed by students at Jeongmyeong Girls' High School. A talk concert with spring flowers and a tour around the Yudalsan Walktrail will follow to enrich the event.

Along with a special program related to Admiral Yi, the city is also organizing a program titled “Find the Black Rabbit” that suits the Year of the Rabbit. It will also showcase cultural programs to re-examine Admiral Yi's wisdom and insight to overcome the crisis.

Diverse participatory events and rich cultural and artistic programs along the Yudalsan Ilju Road will also be carried out for the youth and families to enjoy.

Mayor Park Hong-ryul of Mokpo said, "We will put our utmost effort for the upcoming Festival to be a safe and clean one.”
