SEOUL, July 20 (Yonhap) -- Girl group Le Sserafim’s agency Source Music announced on Wednesday, they have terminated contract with the group member Kim Ga-ram.
Through a statement, Source Music said, “We sincerely apologize for the inconvience caused to many people, including fans, due to the controversy realted to Kim Ga-ram,” adding, “Le Sserafim will work in a group of five from now on.”
Receving attention as “HIVE’s first girl group,” Le Sserafim had a rough time since the debut because of Kim Ga-rim’s scandal of school violence in middle school.
Allegation that Kim Ga-ram inflicted school violence on friend A in 2018 when she was in middle school was raised, and a photo of the notification of the results of the School Violence Countermeasures Autonomous Committee was published online.
Source Music maintained that Kim Garam had nothing to do with allegations of school violence and announced they will respond legally to the spread of rumors.
But as the controversy grew, Source Music announced that “After discussing with Kim Ga-ram, we decided to stop her group activities and let her focus on healing broken heart" through the fan community Wevers on May 20 and excluded Kim Ga-ram from group activities.
