SEOUL, Aug. 4 (Yonhap) -- Lee Na-jung, director of Korean TV series "Mine" (2021), has signed a management contract with Hollywood agency Brillstein Entertainment Partners.
Finecut Entertainment, which was in charge of overseas distribution of Lee's film "Snow Road," announced Wednesday that Lee has partnered with Brillstein Entertainment.
Brillstein Entertainment has been partnering with Hollywood's famous directors, writers, actors and producers, including Adam Sandler, Brad Pitt, as well as Plan B, Pitt's production company, for over 35 years.
Missy Malkin of Brillstein Entertainment has been actively proposing partnership with the Hollywood agency, praising the director's potential and capabilities after watching "Mine," Finecut said.
"The director's work is elegant, warm and inclusive. Also, the strong and resilient depiction of women that Lee passionately wants to portrait is impressive and encouraging,” said Malkin.
"Her presence will greatly inspire the U.S. and other international markets,” added Malkin.
"Lee is the first female and drama director in Korea to sign a management deal with a Hollywood agency,” Finecut said.
Lee has been recognized for her works’ popularity and quality. The director’s productions include film “Snow Road”, KBS2 special drama "Yeon Woo's Summer,” mini-series “Fight for My Way,” Netflix series “Love Alarm 1” and tvN mini-series “Mine.”
