SEOUL, Jan. 19 (Yonhap) -- Disney+, a global online video service (OTT) platform that landed in Korea in November last year, will showcase its first Korean genre series.

The platform announced that it will release the original series "Grid" for the first time on Feb. 16, Wednesday.

"Grid," which is expected to be the next work by Lee Soo-yeon, screenwriter of "The Secret Forest," depicts a story that takes place when the ghost (played by Lee Si-young), who created a shield that saved humanity from the solar wind, reappeared to help a murderer after 24 years.

Actors Seo Kang-joon, Kim A-joong, Kim Mu-yeol, Kim Sung-kyun, and Lee Si-young will appear, while Seo will play Kim Sae-ha, a tracker who joined the management office to find the ghost, and Kim A-joong will play Jung Sae-byeok, a violent detective who will chase the case after witnessing the ghost.

Kim Mu-yeol plays Song Eo-jin, an employee of the management office who is caught up in a mystery while denying the existence of a ghost, Kim Sung-kyun plays Kim Man-rok, a murderer protected by ghosts, and Lee Si-young plays an unknown ghost.

"Grid" will be released once every Wednesday, starting from Feb. 16.
