SEOUL, Sept. 3 (Yonhap) -- Singer Sohyang divorced her husband two years ago, her agency KQ Entertainment said Wednesday.
"Sohyang and her former spouse decided to support each other’s paths after sufficient conversations and mutual respect," the agency said in a statement.
According to the music industry, Sohyang married her ex-husband, a former member of the Contemporary Christian Music (CCM) group POS, in 1998 and divorced in 2023 after 25 years of marriage. The couple had no children.
The agency stressed the divorce was based on mutual agreement, adding it was not the result of any party’s fault.
"There was no party at fault in the divorce process, and it was a decision made by mutual agreement," the agency said. "We ask for restraint from spreading distortions or posting indiscriminate comments."
Sohyang debuted as a CCM singer in 1996 and later gained public recognition through music variety shows such as "I Am a Singer" and "Begin Again."
