SEOUL, August 22 (Yonhap) -- Busan International Film Festival (BIFF) is recruiting participants for Cinema Together program to enjoy the festival with mentors such as directors and actors, BIFF executive office announced on Tuesday.
Cinema Together is BIF’s signature program or audience, where mentors in diverse fields watch the movie with audiences and talk about it together.
16 mentors including director Shin jin, actors, critics, and music directors will participate in this year’s event.
Director Kim Seong-hun, who directed Netflix series “Kingdom” (2019), Director Byun Sung-hyun, who directed “King Maker” (2021), and Hong Won-chan, who directed “Delver Us from Evil” (2020) will be visiting Busan.
Director Kim Bora of movie “House of Hummingbird” (2018), which was discovered by BIFF and took over the world’s film festival, director Yoon Danbi of movie “Moving On” (2019), and director Kim Cho-hee’s “Lucky Chan-Sil” (2019), and director Choi Yun Tae of movie “Baseball Girl” will participate as mentors.
Darcy Paquet, who participated in the English translation of movies “Parasite” (2019), “Escape from Mogadishu” (2020), and “Decision to Leave” (2021), and music director Lee Minwhee from “A Midsummer’s Fantasia” will also take parts.
one mentor and around 10 participants work as a group during the festival time.
They watch four to five movies chosen by the mentor and share different views and storeis about the movie.
