SEOUL March 22 (Yonhap) -- Director Jang Jae-hyun's film "Exhuma" is expected to join the list of this year's first ten million-viewer movies over the weekend.

According to the Integrated Computer Network for Movie Tickets on the 22nd, "Exhuma" retained the top spot at the box office by attracting over 68,000 viewers (with a market share of 53.8%) the previous day. The cumulative number of viewers has risen to over 9.59 million.

With this trend, it is predicted that the movie will surpass 10 million viewers on Sunday, the 24th, just a month after its release on the 22nd of last month.

Since 'Spring in Seoul' broke the 10 million mark at the end of last year, 'Paradox' is not only the first ten million-viewer film of this year but also the first one in four months.

The Hollywood fantasy film "Dune: Part 2," starring Timothée Chalamet, ranked second the previous day, attracting over 15,000 viewers (16.0%). The cumulative number of viewers has exceeded that of the previous installment released in 2021, "Dune," which had over 1.64 million viewers.

The animation "Spy x Family: Code White" (over 13,000 viewers, 11.3%) and Liam Neeson's thriller "Marlowe" (over 4,000 viewers, 2.4%) followed behind.

As of the morning of that day, the reservation rate for "Exhuma" was at 29.2%, leading the charts, followed by "Dune: Part 2" (17.7%), and "Troll Factory," starring Son Suk-gu, which is scheduled for release on the 27th, at 11.0%.
