SEOUL, July 1 (Yonhap) -- Singer-actress
Lizzy (real name Park Soo-young, 29), a former member of the K-pop girl group
After School, was put on trial for charges of drunk driving in the middle of
the night.
The Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office indicted Lizzy without detention
on charges of dangerous driving under the Act on aggravated punishment of
certain crimes and drunk driving under the Road Traffic Act.
Lizzy was accused of injuring a taxi driver by hitting the taxi that was ahead
of her after drunk driving at 10:12 p.m. on May 18 near the southern end of the
Yeongdong Bridge in Cheongdam-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul.
At the time of the accident, Lizzy's blood alcohol content was at least 0.08
percent.
The police sent Lizzy to the prosecution for charges of drunk driving under the
Road Traffic Act, but the prosecution investigation later proved that the taxi
driver was injured in the accident, adding to the charges.
When Lizzy's agency Celltrion Entertainment reported the accident, the
singer-actress said, "I sincerely apologize and realize the serious
responsibility I have for my inexcusable misbehavior."
Lizzy made her debut as a member of After School in 2010, and also a member of
