SEOUL, June 26 (Yonhap) – Mnet announced on the 26th that they decided to broadcast “Boys Planet,” a global boy group debut project in the first half of the year and will recruit applicants for it.
“Boys Planet” is the follow-up season of “Girls Planet 999,” through which a girl group Kep1er debuted. The second season will capture moments of applicants competing and growing up together under the goal to debut as a boy group.
Unlike “Girls Planet 999,” “Boys Planet” expanded the application targets to worldwide. Those who were born before January 1st of 2009 are all allowed to apply to the project. The recruitment starts from June 27 to August 21.
Mnet has already recruited the applicants of “Boys Planet” from the end of last year to the beginning of this year, but they extended the recruitment period due to the shift of broadcasting schedule, which will be broadcast in the first half of the year.
