Classical guitarist David Russell to host recital in South Korea

SEOUL October 05 (Yonhap) -- Classic guitarist David Russell will be hosting a recital in South Korea.

According to the Mapo Foundation for Arts and Culture on Wednesday, David Russell’s upcoming recital will be held in Mapo art center’s Art hall mac on October 23.

After David Russell’s visit in 2018, this will be his first visit to South Korea in 4 years. Through his recital he will perform not only classical pieces by Bach, Abeniz and more but also he will perform pieces by Johann Kuhnau, Fernando Sor and more. Also David Russell will be performing “Danza Brasilera” by Jorge Mrel in order to commemorate the composer’s life

English guitarist David Russel who graduated from the Royal Academy of Music is considered one of the Vistuosos in classical guitar.

With his album “Aire Lation” David Russell received “Best Instrumental Soloist Performance (Without Orchestra)” at the 47th annual Grammy awards and in 2010, he was nominated as one of the competitor at the Gramophone Awards.
