Coupang Play to release director version of ‘Anna’

SEOUL, August 12 (Yonhap) -- Coupang Play is releasing director version of the controversial drama “Anna” on Friday at 8 p.m.

Coupang Play said, “We are releasing director version of 8 episode ”Anna,“ which ended last month with 6 episode, in respect of director’s editing.”

Director Lee Joo-young, who wrote, directed, and edited “Anna” into 8 episodes, stated that the work was damaged after Coupang Play re-edited the drama with another director.

Director Lee demanded to take her name off of the drama’s credit and to release director version of “Anna,” insisting that 6 episode “Anna” is not her work.

Coupang Play states that they re-edited the work to accord with original production intention as Director Lee refused the offer to modify the work for months.

“Anna,” starring singer and actress Suzy, revolves around a woman who starts living a complete opposite life due to a small lie.
