'Sorry Not Sorry' Gains Popularity in Over 60 Countries, Including the U.S., India, and Peru

SEOUL, Feb. 6 (Yonhap) -- The KBS Joy drama "Sorry Not Sorry," starring Jeon So-min, is gaining popularity worldwide as it airs in over 60 countries.

 

According to K-content specialist channel Kokowa Plus on Thursday, the first episode of Sorry Not Sorry ranked No. 1 in the overall popularity chart. In India, the drama reached the fourth spot in the weekly rankings on Channel K, a platform dedicated to Korean content. In Peru, it secured the 10th spot in the miniseries drama category on TV 360 by Bitel.

 

Sorry Not Sorry has ranked among the top shows on overseas OTT platforms in more than 60 countries, including Taiwan and Vietnam, where it is being broadcast simultaneously.

 

The drama follows the intriguing love triangle of Ji-song (played by Jeon So-min), a woman who disguises herself as a married woman while living in the new city of Cheonpo. Produced by KBS N, the series has been airing on the KBS Joy channel since December 5 of last year.

 

Jeon So-min’s popularity from the hit variety show Running Man, which enjoys a strong global following, is believed to be a key factor in the drama’s international success.

 

The production team stated, “Jeon So-min has captivated not only domestic viewers but also international fans, solidifying her status as a ‘global rom-com queen.’”
