SEOUL, Feb. 15(Yonhap) – K-pop girl group Girls’ Generation Tae-yeon’s third full album “INVU,” which was released on Feb. 14, has topped the music chart.
The title song “INVU” ranked No. 1 on “TOP 100” of the greatest domestic music platform Melon on Feb. 15 at 9 a.m. It is the first time in about a month and a half that a female solo artist has topped the chart since IU's "Winter Sleep" in December, 2021.
Besides Melon, the song also topped major domestic music platforms, such as Genie Music, Bugs, and Naver VIBE. Along with the title song, songs "Can't Control Myself," "Set Myself On Fire," and "Toddler" also succeeded in entering the chart.
Tae-yeon's third album ranked No. 1 on the iTunes Top Album chart in 21 countries around the world, including Canada, Sweden, Australia, and Japan. Moreover, “INVU” has achieved the “Platinum Album” certification on QQ Music, China’s largest music streaming service, by making over 1 milllion yuan(about 188.51 million won) in sales.
More than 84,000 copies of the singer’s third full album were sold on the first day of its release, according to Hanteo Chart.
The music video of the title song "INVU" from Tae-yeon’s third album will also be screened as a 30-second version of screen advertisement at 87 MEGABOX locations nationwide for about a month from Feb. 15.
