SEOUL, Feb. 10 (Yonhap) -- Wolverhampton Wanderers F.C. forward Hwang Hee-chan (26) of the English Premier League (EPL), who has been absent for nearly two months due to injury, has begun his return.

Bruno Lage, head coach of the Wolves, said in an interview on the club's website on the 9th (local time) ahead of the 24th round match of the 2021-2022 EPL season against Arsenal, "The three players (Saiss, Trincao, and Hwang) are already training with us, let’s see what happens tomorrow. Everyone is fit, or more or less, and they are ready to join the team."

“Tomorrow morning we have one more session, so let’s see how he (Hwang) goes. He did two or three sessions with the team, and it feels okay. But in these situations, we need to examine day by day," he added.

The South Korean has not been able to play since mid-December last year due to a hamstring injury behind his thigh. He also failed to play in the South Korea national football team’s 2022 Qatar World Cup Asian final qualifying matches against Lebanon (Jan. 27) and Syria (Feb.1).

After being loaned from German RB Leipzig to Wolverhampton in August last year, he scored four goals in six early league matches and signed a contract with the Wolvers until 2026 at the end of last month.

Wolverhampton, ranked eighth (34 points) in the EPL, will bring Arsenal, the sixth-ranked team (36 points), to their home turf from 4:45 a.m. on the 11th (KST) to play the 24th round.
