SEOUL, Oct. 29 (Yonhap) -- Following K-pop girl group Secret Number's successful release of its third single this week, it has been confirmed that the lyrics for "Fire Saturday" were written by none other than rapper Jessi.
The Korean American rapper participated in writing the lyrics for Secret Number's latest title track "Fire Saturday," released on Oct. 27, under her official name Ho Jessica Hyunjoo, according to Vine Entertainment on Friday.
Jessi has consistently proven her outstanding musical abilities by writing lyrics for her own representative songs such as "Cold Blooded," a smash hit that recently became sensational after being used on Mnet's dance audition show "Street Woman Fighter," along with "What Type of X," and "NUNU NANA."
This is also a rare opportunity to see Jessi participate in writing lyrics for another K-pop group rather than for her individual songs.
Meanwhile, Secret Number, which consists of members Lea, Dita, Jinny, Minji, Soodam, and Zuu, saw its "Fire Saturday" music video exceed 1 million YouTube views after only six hours since it was released, and topped the iTunes chart in Indonesia immediately.
