In this series of photos, colorful autumn foliage surrounds the Hyangwonjeong Pavillion, which is known to have been built during the reign of King Gojong. The pavilion has a hexagonal two-story structure and is occupied by a square-shaped Hyangwonji Pond. The name "Hyangwon" can be translated as 'a far-reaching fragrance' and the pavilion itself was a place for Joseon's kings and their family members to relax. On Nov. 5, 2021, the Cultural Heritage Administration unveiled the Hyangwon Pavilion, which was dismantled for restoration in May 2017.
