SEOUL, August 24 (Yonhap) -- Netflix will produce director Yeon Sang-ho’s new drama “Parasyte: The grey,” which is based on Japanese animation.
Netflix announced on Wednesday they have finalized the production and casted Jeon So-nee, Koo Kyo-hwan, and Lee Jung-hyun.
“Parasyte: The Grey” is based on Hitoshi Lwaaki’s animation “Parasyte,” which has philosophical message and creative imagination that parasite invade human’s brain and control its body.
Director Yeon, who has been raising a sharp question about the human nature through people who live under panicked society through movie “Train to Busan” and dramas “The Cursed,” “Hellbound,” and “Monstrous” directed. Author Ryu Yong-jae of TV series “Money Heist: Korea – Joint Economic Area” and he wrote the script.
Acress Jeon So-nee is playing Jeong Soo-in, who is infected by parasites and live with them.
Koo Kyo-hwan plays Sul Kang-woo who chases after parasyte to find his missing sister. Lee Jung-hyun plays Choi Joon-kyung, a leader of parasite task force “The Grey” and who lives only to eradicate parasyte after loosing her husband.
