JAKARTA, Feb. 4 (Yonhap) -- Instant noodles advertised by NCT Dream, has become the hot topic in Indonesia with its growing popularity.

Indonesia’s food brand Lemonilo recently launched a noodle product containing photo cards of NCT DREAM’s 7 members, according to Tribune news and Twitter, Friday.

NCT DREAM filmed the advertisement in Bahasa Indonesia and actively promoted it by uploading a Lemonilo behind the scenes video titled ‘My favorite noodles’ on YouTube and Instagram.

Since then, K-pop fans bought several packets of the product and showed off the collected photo cards on their Twitter.

Fans shared information in real-time and flocked to the convenience stores and marts that sold the noodles with photo cards.

However, some fans tore up the noodle packages and took the photo cards without purchasing the products, which caused a problem.

One NCT DREAM fan from Indonesia tweeted with a video, “I don’t know who did this, but let’s be sensible. There are several products ripped without photo cards. Please feel sorry for the mart staff.”

“I’m not a fan of NCT DREAM, but I felt bad after seeing convenience store staff clean up the ripped noodle packages. You should be ashamed of yourself, and let’s just stop,” tweeted another user.

The company that launched the product issued a statement urging customers to be polite. NCT DREAM’s fans in Indonesia also encouraged each other, saying, "Let's not destroy the noodles just because we are looking for a member's photo card," and "Let's not secretly open noodle packages."

K-pop fans in Indonesia are very passionate.

On June 9 2021, when McDonald's in Indonesia sold the "BTS Set Menu," many Gojek and Grab motorcycle drivers who received orders gathered, and at least 10 stores were temporarily closed due to concerns over COVID-19 mass infection.
