SEOUL, Dec. 15 (Yonhap) -- The final episode of 3-part production Spider-man, “No Way Home” hit the South Korean theaters on Dec. 15 (KST) marking the largest advance ticket sales since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The blockbuster has attracted 755,000 audiences and took up 95.7 % of today's total ticket sales for Wednesday 7 a.m. (KST) hinting a mega-hit, possibly exceeding that of the previous Marvel films released during the pandemic.

“No way Home" outpaced “Eternals," the latest Marvel superhero film to hit the theater with the record of 348,000 pre-sold tickets.

“The Matrix Resurrections”, which will release on Dec. 22, came second with 5,000 tickets and other films released along with Spider-man only earned around 2,000 presold tickets.

"No Way Home" opens a multi-universe, uniting the era with previous Spider-man series, led by Tobey Maguire from 2002 to 2007, and Andrew Garfield in the Amazing Spider-man series from 2012 to 2014.

"No Way Home", which hit the theater in South Korea for the first time in the world, will release in North America on Dec. 17.
