SEOUL, Mar. 24 (Yonhap) -- The official fan club of J-Hope from the K-pop sensation BTS, “Hope on the World,” has made a donation of over 11 million won to help refugee children in South Korea, an international non-governmental organization for children’s rights Save the Children confirmed Friday.

For the sake of refugee children entering the country, the fan club organized and held a campaign titled “Equal Sign For Our Future,” named after the singer’s song “Equal Sign,” from January to February this year.

A total of 333 fans from seven different countries, including Korea, participated in the campaign and collected a whopping 11.9 million won.

On behalf of his fans, Save the Children, which has been supporting refugee children living in the country since 2010, will use the fund for their medical expenses.

The organization has been using funds for delivering diapers and powdered milk, as well as expenses for preschoolers and medical expenses. It has supported 1,676 children so far with about 5 million won.

Save the Children is also planning to hold workshops where 9 regional headquarters and cooperative organizations supporting refugee children this year can hold open discussions.
