SEOUL, Feb. 17 (Yonhap) -- Actresses Ra Mi-ran and Um Ji-won will work together as career women in their 40s, in TVING’s new original series, “Cruel Intern” (translated).
“Cruel Intern” is a drama about a woman who returns to the workforce as an intern in her 40s, and endures and survives the system.
Ra Mi-ran plays Go Hae-ra, who resigned from her job and devoted herself to childcare, while Um Ji-won plays Choi Ji-won, head of the product planning office who is just about to break through the glass ceiling.
It is the first time in nine years that the two have worked together since the movie "Wish” (2013).
Hae-ra and Ji-won were former co-workers who meet in the interview room as a candidate and interviewer. Hae-ra accepts Ji-won’s intern proposal and her dreadful working life begins.
Director Han Sang-jae of the dramas “Ugly Miss Young-ae,” and “A poem a day” and writer Park Yeon-kyung of "The Sound of Heart" will work together to convey the story of warm laughter and empathy even in the cruel reality.
