SEOUL, Dec. 15 (Yonhap) -- Boy-group 2PM’s Hwang Chan-sung announced his marriage plan next year and his girlfriend’s pregnancy on Wednesday.

“I’ve been seeing someone for a long time. During this long period, she became a relief for my anxiety, a friend with whom I can share anything and a lover,” said the singer through an Instagram post.

“While preparing marriage with this person after I returned from military, a new life came to us earlier than expected. We are thinking of getting married early next year.”

“This person who will be my companion on our way to making a family does not work in the same field as I do. So, I ask for your generous understanding about not revealing her identity,” added Hwang.

“My contract with JYP Entertainment, which I have been together for 15 years with, will expire in January 2022. Wishing to figure out my own path and as I have a new family to accompany my life, we have agreed not to renew my contract after thorough discussion,” said Hwang.

“Although there isn’t a definite direction yet, I will tell you about plans that our fans wouldn’t worry about.”

Hwang first showed up in the entertainment and music scene through MBC sitcom “High Kick!” in 2006 and as 2PM in 2008. He has gained immense popularity as a singer and as and actor in Korea and Japan.
