SEOUL December 31 (Yonhap) -- South Korean drama series “The First Responders,” known for its fast and continuous plot ended its first season with over 10 percent viewing rate.
According to Nielsen television audience Measurement Company, on Saturday “The First Responder” which aired its last episode on December 30 at 10 p.m. recorded 10.3 percent of viewing rate.
Throughout the last episode, story of protagonists Jin Ho-gae, acted by Kim Rae-won and Bong Do-jin acted by Son Ho-jun who stumbles into life threatening event trying to catch the serial arson was showcased.
After hearing about the whereabouts of potential suspect of serial arson Jin Ho-gae and Bong Do-jin heads straight to the parking tower to catch the arson.
Jin Ho-gae heads to the scene in order to catch the suspect, and Bong Do-jin heads into the ventilation fan in order to take out the fire however as soon as the backup climbed up the ladder in order to reach the ventilation a huge explosion followed by huge tower of fire shoots up to the sky.
Despite of endless wait both protagonists are nowhere to be found and to worsen the situation the ladder which was placed so that in case both protagonists are still alive could use to get out of the scene gets destroyed so the aftermath and whether they are alive or not became a mystery.
“The First Responders” uses fresh and unique theme and idea of joint operation between fire department and the police department.
Protagonist Jin Ho-gae who becomes crazy when he faces suspect and will do anything to catch, and firefighter Bong Do-jin who carries over 20kgs of equipment to fight against fire are portrayed as very attractive character, and the bromance showcased between both character is another merit of the series.
Most importantly, the speedy play through of the story line was praised upon. A lot of positive reviews featured how “The First Responders” speedy way of carrying out the story line by successfully managed to interest the audience throughout the series.
