SEOUL, Aug. 26 (Yonhap) -- South Korean video game developer Pearl Abyss released a video on Thursday (local time) of an actual game play scene of its latest game "DokeV" at the German game exhibition "Gamescom 2021."
The game provides a goblin-collecting open world action adventure as players need to find goblins or "Dokebi" in Korean. "DokeV" supports both console and PC.
In the actual game play video, a young character appears and performs an impressive action sequence.
In particular, tile-roofed houses, "Sotdae" or tall wooden poles with carved birds, sky lanterns, and traditional Korean kites were featured in the background, which highlighted Korea's cultural characteristics.
"The game shows outstanding action and a high degree of freedom, including a live combat system. We have implemented an impressive open world that crosses over a reality and virtual space in our latest game," said Pearl Abyss.
Kim Dae-il, executive director of Pearl Abyss, and Kim Sang-young, the animation director of Pearl Abyss, were in charge of developing the game, while Nam Chang-ki, a game designer who was in charge of action design for "Black Desert" intellectual property (IP), also participated in developing "DokeV."
"We are currently developing a family friendly game with a unique goblin theme and animated graphics. Since this is a new challenge for Pearl Abyss, we will do our best to focus on developing the game in order to meet the user's expectations," producer Kim Sang-young.
