SEOUL April 25 (Yonhap) -- K-pop phenomenon BTS’ “Boy With Luv” received a double platinum certificate from the recording industry association of Japan, addressed group’s agency BIGHIT Music on Tuesday.
The title of Double Platinum is rewarded to records and tracks, which has successfully exceeded over 200 million streams. The recording industry association of Japan, provides various certificates based on the number of streams, from gold, when the track exceeds 50 million streams, to diamond when the track exceeds 500 million streams.
As a result, the group has achieved four of the Double Platinum with their tracks, “Dynamite,” “Permission to Dance,” “Butter,” and “Boy With Luv.”
Moreover, the track “Dynamite” has successfully exceed over 50 million streams in 2022, therefore the group was rewarded with the diamond certification.
“Boy With Luv” is a title track of BTS’ mini album “Map of The Soul : Persona” which was released in 2019.
American pop artist Halsey participated as a featured artist within the track and holds a record of successfully guarding its place on Billboard’s main single chart “Hot 100,” for 8 consecutive weeks.
