NCsoft, "'Lineage W' is final compilation of all series"

SEOUL, Aug. 19 (Thursday) -- NCsoft has released its new mobile MMORPG (Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game) "Lineage W" aiming for the global market Thursday.

The new game includes aspects of original Lineage series. The 'W' means Worldwide.

Like its name, users from different nations can cooperate with and compete against each other gathered up in one battlefield (server).

Also, the game features battle system with intensified hitting sensation, full 3D graphic and plots that enables users to more concentrate on the game.

"Lineage W is the final compilation of everything Lineage has been gaining for last 24 years. Based on its fundamental values, battle blood alliance sacrifice glory , we have strengthened Lineage's atmosphere of battles," explained Kim Taek-jin, head of NCsoft.

"Global Service doesn't simply indicate an expansion of area. Lineage W aims to build a 'playground' for the world's different cultures to interact," added Kim.

To make a 'global battle community' the company is servicing the game in Global One Build (in one version).

In the video revealed on the day of the game's release, users from all over the world were gathered online for a siege warfare.

'Voice to Text,' a function that changes the user's voice into a chat message, and AI translating service are provided to resolve the language barrier among users.

Especially, the provided translating engine can perceive technical terms, slangs and abbreviated words as well, according to the company.

Through NC's game platform "Purple," Lineage W can be played not only on mobile devices but also on PCs. Also cross plays through Play Station 5 Nintendo Switch are under production.

NC is to launch the upcoming game in the global market this year. Pre-reservations has started 10 a.m. Thursday.

Meanwhile, "Lineage 2M" which started its service in Taiwan this March has recorded the largest sale on two major app markets (Google Play Apple Store), according to NC on the 19th.

Thanks to "Lineage 2M," the company's sales in Taiwan for the second half of this year has grown 552% compared to that of the first half.
